Data model focuses on what data is required and how it should be organized rather than what operations will be performed on the data. Data Model can be well compared with an architect's building plans . The stages of Data Modeling include Structure, Integrity, Manipulation, and Querying. As per the clients requirement we perform the following activities:

1. Define how data should be organized (hierarchical, network, relational, object-oriented). Provide a definition of rules that restrict which instances of the defined structure are allowed.
2. Provides a protocol for updating the data.
3. Provide a method in which the data can be queried.
